Meet your Performance and well-being coach

Julia Davidson is the Founder of Climb Higher Coaching, where the philosophy is simple: unleash academic excellence and optimize holistic development for students and student-athletes. As a former Division I cross country and track and field athlete, and a self-admitted stress “catcher”, Julia understands the pressure to perform in all aspects of life. With a master’s degree in education, and as an 18-year veteran middle and high school teacher and athletic coach, Julia recognizes the challenges and stressors that hit students throughout the ‘seasons’ of the school year and especially when planning for the future. Having successfully run an Educational College Readiness business for over 15 years, Julia has mastered the art of preparing students for the SAT and/or ACT, while simultaneously improving self-confidence. She has also guided over 800 students in developing, crafting, and perfecting college essays that they are extremely proud to send off as part of their college portfolio. College planning and preparation can begin at any time; it is never too early or too late to strategize and map out an individualized college admission plan.


Julia is also a Duke-trained and Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach of four years. When looking back on her time as a student-athlete, it is easy for her to reflect on how chronic stress took a toll on her physical, mental, and emotional well-being at times. It has become her mission to enable students with the tools that maximize their overall well-being. The goal is that they experience success while finding daily balance, boosting self-confidence and resilience, and creating a strong sense of self. Students and student-athletes partner with Julia to identify actionable steps that have immediate impact on their academic success and the elements of well-being that they can control - steps that align with their specific needs while optimizing nutrition, reducing stress, improving sleep, and cultivating healthier routines and a healthier mindset.
